Out of the 1,500 active volcanoes, 80 of them are underwater. The volcanoes that are found underwater, are mainly found in the Pacific Ocean, a spot called ‘The Ring Of Fire.’ Even though the ocean is cold, when the volcanoes erupt the water comes out boiling hot, and if you were to fly over it you would be burnt. Volcanoes that are found underwater are called submarine volcanoes. Although submarine volcanoes are located under water, they still erupt when they are active. When these volcanoes erupt it shapes the way the sea floor looks.
